Basic hopups for fun+reliablilty

1.Remove gear cover (see #3 below)

2.Steering servo / throttle servo

3. Pipe (a good one will even wake up a 23cc)

4. 3rd channel kill switch

5. 2.4ghz radio

6. 8k clutch spring

7. HPI baja air filter

8. head kit (3.5 or less HP, easier on drivetrain)

9. Receiver batt (at least 3000mah)

10. pull start cover

11. dogbone leashes (so you don't chuck a bone)

12. centered driveshafts

13. shoe goo, flat scrap lexan, dry wall tape or equivalent (body repair)

Areas that might need attention in the future

1. bearings

2. shock shafts (breakage, limiters, droop, etc)

3. gears (steel if needed, many of us don't need them, see above #1)

4. wheels, tires (lighter=faster, maybe less drivetrain/susp. wear and tear (esp. mt))

5. slammer dam or equivalent

6. upgrade kit (has lots of spares and beefier parts)

7. differential (hardened, or #6)

8. outdrives (hardened)

Ok, I'm still in love with the redcat rampage mt.
The parts availability is way higher for it than others.

So how much money am I looking at to get this thing up and running, minus the cost of motor and radio?

I mean this thing is gona break almost right outa the box it seems.

The plastic gears will last a few laps, people say to replace the bearings, dif cups are needed, i gota have the 8k rpm springs,

What else do I need to buy with this kit so I won't be broke down?
We are way beyond it breaking right out of the box. Buy a V2 buggy or trucka nd most of the problems have been sorted out.

What do I have to do to make my rampage mt sound and perform like this:

I would be happy with this level of performance.

as cheap as possible...

Like Moo and Kryptonite said I do indeed have a 30.5cc engine. It is an ESP race ported and modified 30.5cc with the DDM side Dominator pipe. The gearing in the video is the stock gearing for the truck which is 25, 35, 25 and 25. I have also used 27, 33 and 29, 31 in the A&B positions. However, I wouldn’t recommend the 29, 30 gearing as it starts smoking the clutch if you do any serious hill climbs. As for side Dom it is one beast of a pipe.

Here is the build thread of my Rampage MT, it shows all the mods I have done to my truck thus far. http://www.redcatrampageforum.com/showthread.php?t=990
