But definitely awesome!! No more pulling!! No more taking your body off or putting a huge hole on the body of your buggy!! Just a hole no bigger than the body post hole on the side!!
 
Thats cool and definitely handy with out removing the body but the drill is one more thing you have to charge and lugg to the track or bash spot YEP!! I want one too lol.
 
Make sure you ask them first to make sure the claw doesn't slam into your fly wheel when you stop your engine. It looks like it won't but it just might. I thought I saw a small dents on both claws if you look closer. Just a heads up.
 
There cool, but you have to carry a drill with you just to get it running. I wish the pull starters had the drill insert so you could start it either way.
 
ive tried all kind of these(not this one in particular) they are really hard on the flywheel,mostly on stopping the motor.Also be careful when starting the drill not to slam the fly wheel or you'll be buying a new one.
 
Think I will stick with a regular pull start. Takes all but 5 seconds to put a body on shell on. Looks well made though let us know what you think if you mount one on the side of you engine.
 
its got the kool factor but, no way would i run one.

i think its to much messing around with a drill(charging it, lugging it around, not losing the drill bit) then it would a normal pull starter, and putting a body on.

whats achally wrong with the standard pull starter again? :p

this would be a deffo NO NO for track/race situations, unless your willing to give every Marshall a drill :rolleyes:

you gotta remember your going to be the only one able to start it.

and just think if your car stalls in a field, you gotta go collect your drill, or carry your car to the drill..... sounds like alot more hassle to me

id stick with the time proven pull start, ive never ever had one break on me, on any of my stuff (rc cars, strimmers, mowers, chainsaw)

after that said, i can see a drill start being perfect for disabled people unable to physically start there cars themselfs!!

any1 eles using one is just plain lazy!

It definitely has its pros and cons....but I don't think it's for lazy people!! I want one and I'm definitly NOT lazy from for it!! It's the same concept as the Roto start, bringing a drill to me won't be a problem my drill isn't heavy at all!! It's no bigger than my GT3B. The reasons why I want one is because I lowered my body and I can't twist the body to the side and I think it's a pain in the ass to take the whole body off because I accidentally hit the 3rd for my kill switch.
 
I have to rebuild a pull start at least twice but the drill start is a big NO because of all the reasons everyone else said...not to mention those damn one way bearings (at least on nitros) seem to give up the ghost way too often...
 
I can see the lazy factor you guys talk about but it would be more for the different factor. I personally don't believe I'm lazy. The box I bring with me when I do get to play will fit my drill and its light in weight. Now its mostly for being different and looks. Almost sounds like the lazy thing is not wanting to do more work like charging it or carrying one extra tool. Js

haha :rolleyes: don't take offense but.....it is for lazy people......what other reason could there be?...(unless your going for the kool factor and not usability/reliability or as a final upgrade if you have done everything else possible to your car)

its not hard to removed a body shell, and only takes what? 30-60 seconds to remove then put back on. (or just cut out some window slots? i can start my car without removing the shell, on my MT shell and Rally shell)

you can even get them extra long body pins that will cover 2 mounts with 1 clip, so you can half the amount of pins you need.

Ive always found the time i spend putting my body shell on and messing around, gives the engine a bit of time to warm up without me giving it little throttle kicks to make it warmer faster.

you see nitro engines needed a roto start because pull starts broke all the time(mostly from flooding), and they arnt exactly the easiest thing to swap out and a time consuming task to change all the time.

your not gonna bable to tell if your engine is flooded if you have a half decent 14v-18v lipo drill whinging it over either(some drills have some deadly power behind them), so your asking for troubles, at least the roto starts had a safty relay, so you know when its flooded

(my 1st roto start didnt have a relay and it would chew one way bearings up all the time as theres no flood protection... was very costly way to start a nitro)

I would hate to see what would happen to a flywheel

PS. i used to hate carrying around a rotostarter and spare battrys for it!!

and its only another link in the puzzle to go wrong.

and i dunno about you but i have 2 hands, 1 to carry my car, one to carry transmitter

It's just my opinion no offense taken and the most I do is just bash it no racing. To me another tool in my box is nothing it's just for fun, and in all reality I can spend the $99 on more upgrades and get a new pull start for $15-20. Unlimited funds and I would have orderd it already lol. Whoever tries it tell us about it.
