Just fecked me fecking ankle  Jumped on my bike to help the youngest learning to ride but only had my flip flops on & my foot slipped out & I ended up in a heap with the bike wrapped around my ankle. I told him "don't do it like Dad and you will be fine!". It was only very slow speed as well but its come up like a balloon & I cant walk on it. Silly I know but we always think we will get away with it but obviously my luck ran out today! I think (I hope) its just sprained - cant afford to have 3 months off work with a broken ankle when I work for myself. Makes it worse that the missus & kids had only been here a couple of hours so I got til a week on Sunday with em and wont be able to enjoy it to the full. As usual the wife had loads of sympathy in the form of hahahahahahaha.........oh well, will have to stand still in a field with my FG!!

bad luck mate, i ride bikes all the time and have broke wrists ankles fingers and toes lol,

Its proper fat today but don't think its broken. A sprain will be fine if I strap it into my boots, better to keep it moving and fight through the pain!!

Don't mess around with the bones mate.
If there's a chance it's broken, it costs nothing other than time and transport to go to a local hospital and have it checked out.
Sorry for the injury and pain, but basically your fault if it's something that needs sorting out and you don't.
'Harsh but fair', and seriously all the best - but GET IT SORTED MATE!!

Al.

Pain is easing now but bruising & swelling coming out nicely. The bruising to both sides of my ankle worried me at first but with the pain easing off its just a sprain.

If you've probably limited but full rotatory movement, odds are nothing's broken.
I fired off as I've met loads of 'hero contractors' in Africa who show signs of malarial symptoms when in Africa and simply carry on without going for a quick (take blood, wait 1 hour, result given) test, and then possibly cured but with much higher doses ... some don't make it ...
Extreme example, but explains my reaction.

I was giving it time to settle down rather than rushing off to hospital and did a bit of a self assessment on it after I'd done it. Movement is ok and pain is manageable (I never take meds unless absolutely necessary) so should be fine. I cant walk so been out on the bike a couple of times with the missus & kids since I done it!! They think Im mad but it keeps the blood flowing!!
