Imposible to fit a 16T layshaft gear....

As I wrote in another post I'm doing a rebuild of my FG MT and thought I should fit a 16T layshaft gear. But with the 4x4kit this gear has a plastic cap, and the largest gear I could fit with some rubbing is a 15T.

Any out there who have fitted a 16T layshaft gear together with a 4x4kit?

u have to get a biger diff gear cause i run a 16t gear on the twin monster

No, that's not the problem.

The gear inside the blue square, rubs on the plastic cap inside the red square:

What's the plastic cap for ?

Keeping gravel and such out I would guess. Maybe I don't need it?

you can space it up

turn the gear round and pack it out with shims.

Thanks guys It only rubs at the lower end of the plastic cap, so I think I'm going to cut that little piece off with my dremel
