hi there can anyone help i have baja 5b, this is second hand and had some use. i have just replaced the carb there was an issue, so i fitted it, tightened everything, primed it and now does not start. sounds like its catching but does not start. does anyone have any suggestions?
 
try tweeking the low end screw on the carb, thats the one on the right as you look at it, screw it all the way in and then screw it back out 1,and a quarter turns out,
 
hey lads the dam things just not catching restored card to factory, no luck cleaned spark plug and still nothing anything else i can do?
 
There was something wrong with car,it had full throttle, when starting, i messed about with the old carb only to break it (i'm new to this). when taking the old carb found the screw loose where throttle plate is keeping it open. so just replace the old with the new, hoping it would start!
 
yeah take it out and then plug it into the lead and then touch it against the side of the engine and pull the engine over and it spark, but you can't always trust it as if the spark is weak it can get blown out under compresion.
 
sweet, i'll try it. while your here, my engines only a 23cc what do you think to the big bore kit, worth it or is a new engine better?
 
it up to you matey, ive had a 28.5cc which was great but i killed it by gettin sand in it :lol: goin for the 25.4cc next as ive been told there a better kit for bashin. theres a few head kits out there so have a look round mate;)
 
MAY I HUMBLY SUGGEST ....
You get either a new Zen, or a known-good used Zen even off Ebay, if none of the guys here have any for sale, AND THEY OFTEN DO, and you get a year or so's practice and tinkering in?

That way, if you stuff it, you're talking 100 quid, not 400-500 quid. Then if you're still keen, you can safely move on.
