I like fun forum names but intlwaters does not and that's sad...but that's o.k those are there rules.



i have not seen this boat started and i was told it works any way I'm going to start by checking the servos then remove the fuel tank / servo box / exhaust pipe and look for problems with it i'm going to buy a small blow up pool for it so it can float in it and check for leaks then start it and take it to the river to try out it's a 10 min drive a way.

so far every thing has removed easy except for the spark plug.

it needs some wood gluing where the receiver box holes are.

Leave the velocity stack off when you put it back together. Do not work good in boats. If you run into issues with running it full throttle. Pull lid off and try it again in straight line both ways. I see very little air coming in or out of it.

cheers, i still need to get this boat back together i was expecting to see a air filter connected to the carb when i removed the lid.
so remove the plastic velocity stack and have nothing attached to the carb?

I see very little air coming in or out of it.

the air intake above the cabin is meshed for air intake and the only air outlets are the chrome pipes at the back.

Most RC boats, and aircraft for that matter, don't really use filters in my experience. You're already limited on space and have limited air flow on a boat so unless its a super dusty environment I'd just keep the hull intake covered with mesh like what you have.

i'm so use to seeing air filters on carbs and i do understand it's not necessary with a boat.
the clutch bell has high heat discoloration and must of got hot at some time but it hasn't worn much and is still usable, but the clutch shoes are worn and need replacing.

I was wondering about that. I have very little boat experience besides having an electric one that was direct drive many many years ago.

I wouldn't think there is a lot to slip and heat up.

I'l keep check of the temps once it's running.
i took a gamble and bought the boat used without hearing started, and when i got home i didn't attempt to start it as i disassemble it to check it's condition.
the clutch shoes are only part that's needs replacing everything else looks o.k
