I didn't take someone's idea and send it to a contract manufacturer to copy. (LEDs anyone?) I called the contract manufacturer that had already designed a similar product and worked with them to make it what my customers wanted. They sent me samples, I tested them, sent back changes, re-tested, send back changes and came up with my specs. This is how I came up with Version #3. I don't own the design, nor do they have a non-compete with me. Kind of silly to think the Chinese will do anything other than sell whatever they can. Ebay is full of Version 1 and 2, and they work well enough. But I needed that last tweak to make it work with one of my customers radio systems.
Don't forget who started this forum. I could care less if you have a clone or not. I just can't have clones intermixed with the HPIBajaForum. Notice the first 3 letters. Its important for some people. That might change in the future, but its still HPIxxxxxxx now.
