Is the kill switch considered open or closed when running? Does closed mean it is off or on?

Thanks having a hard time getting the handle on the open/closed - on/off in my mind.

Think I found it. It is Closed (off) when the engine is running. Open (on) when it is pushed in. Right? Wrong?

From what I've gathered, it is opposite of what you would think. It's not like a light switch where when you close the circuit the light gets power and turns on. When you press the engine kill button you are closing the circuit which shorts the ignition disabling it from firing. Therefore the killswitch relaxed position (unpowered) is closed which shorts the ignition disabling it from firing. The killswitch needs a signal from the receiver to open the circuit to stop the short which will let the ignition fire. Any loss of signal and the killswitch circuit goes back to it's relaxed unpowered closed position and shorts the ignition.

I think I got that right. :o

Now I am confussed agianl. lol JK That made senese to me. I was trying to figure out the battle switch and how to add light to it so they are on when the kill switch (or 3rd channel) is Open. I finally got off my but and removed it from the receiver box and started testing it out with the multi-meter. Makes more sense now when I actually see or make it happen. Thanks for the help.
