Is this a HPI or Rovan baja?

The guy from the other baja deal still hasn't sold it, yet he didn't even read my 5 messages dince 1 month. I'm looking for another one now, does this look like HPI?Screenshot_20240106_115221_Marktplaats.webpScreenshot_20240106_115219_Marktplaats.webpScreenshot_20240106_115214_Marktplaats.webpit doesn't have a body, should I need one?

Looks like an HPI to me.
Thanks a lot! I just bought it and am really impressed with its weight and dimensions, just like when I picked up the FG😂 It all looked so much smaller on the vids lol. I'll attach some pics once I get home👍 guy told me he removed the body as the new pipe wouldn't fit. It's got the original 23cc engine, maybe I will put in the extra 26cc engine I got. Finally got my hands on a baja🙂20240106_191812.webp20240106_191752.webp20240106_191745.webp

Previous owner told me he used to bash it in sand and offroad...20240106_221932.jpg20240106_221910.jpgall the screws are way too tight. Rust on the gears

Edit: don't get me wrong I'm still wayy hyped to get it running lmao

Sadly not yet, it was 3rd in the row for getting repaired: my working bench was full of parts of other 1/10th nitros. One of them I did fix recently, the other one is waiting for parts I ordered. Now I've put it aside and finally got room for the baja.

But the clutch is binding with the crankshaft now, so when I turn the car, it turns the engine. I want to disassemble enough to get to the clutch but the screws are way too tight. I made it very hot, used wd40, and after bending my hex driver more than 90° I think I'll leave it to the HS🤣

The front tires say Rovan, but the air filter and gear cover say HPI lol. Love the interchangeability👍 I ordered a killswitch already and tested it with the new receiver, and everything works great, also the stock servos. I cleaned the car enough to remove all that grass and most of the dust by removing the fuel tank and electronics box.20240108_142116.webp

Did a whole lot of 1:10 nitro projects but finally back at it👍
Big thanks to the LHS which helped me a lot today by removing all the screws from the purple plate around the clutch housing. All of them were absolutely suffocated in loctite and needed a lot of heat, one of them had to be drilled out with a reverse thread bit.
They didn't want to mess with the screw which holds the clutchbell and gear though, so I'll try that on my own and if I can't do it I'll have to go to the local garage once again. Went there with my FG once and they're really friendly as well👍
