Yes Redcat updated there air filter design. Myself personally I would still go with the baja filter as its a proven one

DT1 works great. I go thru 2 or 3 tanks of gas at least before it gets dirty enough to clean (didn't clean air filters every time I gassed up when riding dirt bikes, the DT1 is the same). I don't use the Outerwears any more though. My DT1 filters are the triple layer and longer then the Outerwears. The elastic band kept pulling back from the plastic to the foam, the second time while I was cleaning/oiling one the foam separated from the plastic ring where the Outerwears kept pulling back. I had 2 DT1's, 1 in the plastic bag, never used, so I wasn't down, but lesson learned.

Re: is this true??

Maybe I will not get one then for my filter. For the dt1 I need a velocity stack to mount it up correct. I have yet to look at it more

Re: is this true??

Sorry for asking ?s on someone else's thread here just never asked. One more ? Isn't there different height velocity stacks? What one do I need or is the best option. Thanks a lot guys

I got a tall velocity stack mainly to make it easier to put on the filter, it's held on with a hose clamp, has ribs on the outside to hold the filter in place, and figured "what the heck, it can't hurt" about any performance improvement. If there was any improvement, I wouldn't of noticed because of exhaust work at the same time. There are shorter velocity stacks out there, I wouldn't use one with a DT1.

i tried running the baja filter, but it got in the way of my linkage...especially when i put on the outerwears....servo arm hits it...whats the secret?

heres mine with the 2 stage unifilter,, its angled,,,,, mounts to a ddm 1'' velocity stack to a 990 with a ada intake,,,,, with a outwears cover,,,,,, should work good once all done,,

I use the baja filter with no problems. All i did was switch my throttle linkage to the brake side, trimmed the servo horn on the new brake side. Rides right along the filter with no snags. Im also using a 1 inch aluminum mani and a 990 carb. Easy mod with out spending money on an angled stack..
