I think it sucks that you have to spend $19.95 to enter a contest. I beleve there is a Federal law against this.:mad:
 
You wont get any sympathy on here mate, in fact with comments like that you will just alienate people. You have a choice just like everyone else - are you seriously expecting to join up just to win an engine???? Nothing in life is free.
 
Its just like paying for a raffle ticket.

Any why would you come into the "introduce yourself" section, and use it to complain about something instead of.....introducing yourself?

Sorry Roger - I like to give away stuff to those members that like to help support the site. It's just one of my ways to say "Thank you".

Don't like it? That's fine, don't become an LSF member - just don't expect me to be giving you a $400+ engine just because you say so. :lol:

This along with other forums LSF is a great source of info and should be commended, what does annoy me (and this happens on lots of forums) is the fact that people edit or remove posts without a reason or a simple message to say why, when all the post is doing is supplying answers to peoples questions. I don't see a problem in pointing people who ask a question, to a thread on another forum if it gives a relevant answer especially if that forum has no commercial interest.

I see people spending so much money gambling. I worked at a Casino and had to quit. I couldn't stand seeing what happened to addicted gamblers. So my opinion is biased somewhat.

I think it's definately a cool way to reward supporting members though
 
its not a raffle, or the only thing you get for becomming a Plus Member.

fact is it is a give away. Woodie, site owner is giveing away the motor. to win, one must be a contributing member. to win any of the LSF give a ways, you ll need to be a contributing member. as Woodie said, its his way of saying Thank You to those the help support the forum here.

now, being a plus contributor, no only make one eligable to win one of the give aways, it also allow you more PM numbers, an album, the ability to use custom avys and sigs, the arcade area, not to mention other bonuses you don't have a a standard member.


its not an obligation to become a plus member, but in the end, you ll be able to get more out of the forum for doing so.
jm2c on it. and as ive said before. i have yet to find a forum that does give aways, that doesn't limit member eligibility to what they consider, plus, charter, or high level contributing members.

so you cant think about it as 20.00 to enter a chance to win a killer ESP 27.2 motor, but 20.00 to improve your ability to contribute (not just monitarily) to the forum and keep it a busy, and usefull sorce for info on all things surface large scale rc.
 
Ive joined a number of Baja, 1/5th scale and 2.2 crawler related sites in the past year or so and have been a payed member to all that I found to be realy great sites reguardless off give-aways or contests.

Only one I cant seem to get is Fast Eddies site....his paypal wont let me pay for some odd reason a number of times Ive tryed.

Just because you say its worth that much its not that important and to sucker people into buying your member ship so as to pay your annual salary I guess you have to make up something to suck people in and for the amount to run this site isnt that expensive many people run sites with almost no moneys involved and here you try to get people to pay what a SCAM this is whats wrong with these and other forums you shouldn't have to pay for the HELP of others that is what it was originally designed for . So get off your high horse and quit charging people for the common sense help they ask for and get back to the original meaning of the forums. your trying to make it into a busisness and that not right in any sense of the word .

I know I didn't have to pay for 2 memberships last year to be on here, but I did (Meli's too) I did it because I thought it was right. I was/am on this forum almost daily (lately) and I think it's only right to pay for the use of this place. Some people may disagree and that's fine, but to come in like some stupid poophole whining because he's butt-hurt from the lack of ability to win a free motor is just ludicrous.

Why do people like you come on to a site and slate it??? This site is FREE!!!! If you manage to read up on the site when you join instead of pulling it to bits you might just see its a free site.
I suggest what Trip said, and stick to a site that tolerates people like you as you will just get the backs up of decent members of the site.We really don't need comments like that off you or any other 13 year old kid.

I'm a big enough man to publicly admit I was wrong about something. Since Woodie has taken over fully, my only complaint he has addressed so the sensorship is gone.

You are a good man and have done this site a great service. I commend your efforts and will shut up about sensorship from this point forward.
