You said it, dude! I was into nitro 5 yrs ago and just got so tired and frustrated with the nitro being so finicky especially in areas with high elevation like where I live. Auctioned off everything down to the last screw. then by accident I found out about 5th scale. I remember, every summer and time to whip out my weed whacker to trim the grass and start revving it, I keep saying to myself I wish that someone would come up with an idea to put all the nice qualities of this motor to an RC car or truck, cheap on gas, so easy to start even after a long winter with old gas still on the tank and first crank after long storage, it fires right up....and DUH! it was right there under my nose the whole time i was dreaming about it. Now I'm a happy camper. finally, an RC car that doesn't require anyone to be a guru to run the motor when you want it to.I'll never go back to nitro AGAIN!!! :D

I feel so much better

I still have a titan twin and i would rather chew nails than run it again.
Nice to now I wasn't the only one who went through that ordeal. I didn't mind spending all that money on nitro cars if only I could guarantee myself that the damn thing would run on cue when you get the urge to go bashing. I remember, when my little nephew would ask me that we go play with our nitro trucks, I kept giving him excuses coz' I know 99% of the time, that damn motor won't start and I felt bad coz' I let him down. electric car was not even an option coz' they're too quiet. He wouldn't play with it even if you pay him. Now, we're both a little older and when I told him about the 5th scale and all the good stuff about it, now we finally enjoy driving our RC cars and trucks without the hassles of a nitro engine. My only regret is I shoud have known about 5th scales earlier which brings me to ask anyone of you guys coz' I'm kinda curious, how long has the 5th scale been around? Anyone know when it first came out?

I still have 9 Nitro trucks :D and I have great luck with them. as far as running goes lol I have problem breaking stuff BC i Bash the poop out of everything :) I have like 6 BB .28 engines that run unbelievable and easy to tune. Two of them on a twin setup would be nasty. My Revo with one of these .28's will not stay on its wheels LOL

I really love 5th scale But my Savage is just as fun I will get some vid jumping the house soon :D

HPI already sells a Savage converted like that. I don't think they brought over to the U.S. tho.

Savage 5T

IMO I think it's a little much for the nitro engine. 4 5T wheels/tires are a lot heavier than my Monster GT wheels.

Plus the price I seen a while ago was almost as much as a real baja 5T.

That looks pretty Sick Tho Bill !!! Thanks For the link I like it wish u could get a Zenoah on that thing ;) I love my Savage X It is one of the Best Nitro Trucks out!! It can take punishment Over and Over. The 4.6 Runs till the tanks dry every time. I have Big tires on mine and it Screams them babys :D And wheelies on demand

When I first saw it I thot it was a new version of the Baja. I have that HPI K5.9 in my MGT. It runs pretty strong and seems to rev high for a big engine. and will run all day if you can keep the tank full. It's a gas hog.

I haven't had too many problems with the nitro engines and had plenty.

I think most of the nitros are somewhat finicky during break-in. A few engines I had was like a light switch around the gallon mark then almost completely retune and good to go.
