jet pro rear mount question

I had been wondering the same thing so I emailed Dino at Jetpro and he said the following:

"yes it fits the MT without any major hacking of your body and will turn that thing into a beast! There should be Video of some of our customers killing other cars with different pipes on the internet, they told me they posted them as far as the bumper I will need to supply you with a extender plate and hardware so you can use your bumper , even though the pipe is tucked in well ! I have not had any one who has complained of damage not running the bumper!"

I heard it's a great pipe and was tossing the coin between the Jetpro and the CPI pipe but "racetruck" and his boy liked the Jetpro and I was thinking that they would know. Either one would probably be good.

I am the customer that Dino is referring too! LOL. I have the video, just haven't posted it yet as I only could record it on my phone, and it's hard to see the cars.

I bashed with other members of the board, none of whom had a Jetpro pipe, and we were able to do a "drag race" of sorts. We were all - VERY PLEASED by the Jetpro.

To get it to fit you do have to use an extender plate. The plate extends the rear bumper so that the pipe lays in the rear bumper like a cradle. If you look at the pics I took and uploaded after I got my new body, you'll see the pipe installed.

I just started tuning the carb, and I can tell you even without this thing being tuned nicely - it definately helped performance considerably.

You can in fact run it with no bumper, but that would mean that the Pipe is not bolted anywhere, and would definately break if you were to land on the rear - it's not a good idea!

My only recommendation if you are talking to Dino is to tell him that he needs to come up with a better idea for the extender plate. He used very thin sheet metal, but just from very minor use (I only got to run my truck once with the pipe before the 900 consecutive storms in NJ hit us) it's already warped. I have bent it back into shape and it's good as new, but it's going to get annoying if I have to do that every time I run the truck. Carbon Fiber would probably be the perfect thing to use in my opinion, or thicker/less pliable aluminum.

If you want additional pictures of the pipe/bumper extender mods etc just ask and I'll post em up.

I can even post the videos, but admittingly they aren't great quality.

Cpi wasn't a bad pipe. It just didn't run like my side mount jetpro. Cpi should make it nonsilenced and it would probably be great. One other thing I didn't like was the mounting. Now with the rear jetpro I cut one down to make one for the XT. I used two pieces of solid stainless rod to protect it. So as for use on the rampage if I did the same I'd probably run one on the rampage. It does seem to run better than my side jetpro.

extender plate???

I was looking to buy the rear mount jetpro for my mt and I was just wondering where you got the extender plate because I just asked someone from ddm and they had no clue what I was talking about

So you got it from jetpro.com? And will they charge me extra for it???
I don't think he'll charge you extra, as much time him and I spend on the phone, I honestly never asked him that.

thank you

Thank you so much for all the help and dino was a great help too he gave me the dimensions of the plate so I could make it my self because they were on backorder

And I am definatly going to get the rearmount today

I just installed it on my mt, and its got great low end but it doesn't have much top end at all. Is that the pipe or do I have the carb tuned wrong.
