Nice video. It's not bad. If you add a pipe it will wake that engine up quit a bit all around. Looks like a nice open area to run in though. The MCD likes all the power you can give them. The weight & 4x4 drive train can use big power to get the really pumping.

yeh its nice arear to run, but its also near a cricket ground, so not ideal realy! def lookin into a pipe wen get the funds, help it get on the pipe quicker. exelent fun tho. ur rite this things really work the engines hard, be good to c someone go 35cc in one of these

I have a 29cc stroker in my Baja1000 & a 28.5cc in my rally car. These are both great for power, but they both have Jetpro pipes as well. The stroker engines have better bottom end torque, but do not rev as high on the top end, due to the extra length of the crankshaft inside. You could very easily add a 36mm head kit to your engine & make a 28.5 if your wanting more power. This combo with a pipe works very well.

This one has 28.5 with pipe

mate that baja hauls! sounds like a motocross bike, is that your yard , all that space? my problem is findin places to run it cos of noise, with a pipe it gona be even louder! def got get more power tho, so may have to be done. difference is like night and day

Yes the Baja video is shot in my front yard. I'll post a couple videos that were shot in by back yard. I live on 4.5 acres of ground, so plenty of room to play. My track is about 200' x 80'. Plenty of room to go real fast !

i live in a block of apartments, so bit more difficult to run for me! thats a awesome track, and all that land to run. must b really good to fancy a run n just pop outside. i have to load up my car, drive sumwhere, make sure i wont get thrown off, then have a play! was thinkin of getin the baja ss to. any weak areas that are expensive to correct, do like the rwd style on a loose track, bit more wild!

The SS is a great car. Not really anything expensive. The 2wd is harder to drive through the corners. It wants to spin quite a bit. Takes quite a bit of practice on throttle control to get good with it. It is alot of fun to drive though. I like all my 1/5 scale models for different reasons. I would definitely suggest an SS in the 2wd market for sure. Yea having the room to run makes mine get used quite often. It is very nice to have that option & I know most don't. Having this much land is great until it's time to cut the grass !! Ha Ha:lol:

true, i can imagine its not something you can do ona sit down mower! i think i mght hav to get a ss to (its only money, cant take it with you!) some of my nitros were rwd, like my rc10 gt. i luvved hangin the back out on that steerin it with the gas, looks like the ss is that on a large scale! now were i put my credit card?....

hi, yeh i was thinking that, i actually bought the springs when i bought the model, but havnt got round to installing them. can i keep the original clutch shoes? never changed clutch on large scale. it quick job?

You will need a piston stopper and yes you can use the standard clutch shoes. It should only take a matter of minutes to change the clutch spring - once the engine is out of the buggy.

The engagement point is moved from 6,000 rpm to 7,800 rpm (close to the 8,000 rpm HPI claim) and the improvement is noticable from both a standing start or when accelerating out of low speed corners/turns.

You will probably be able to change the gearing for more top speed as the engine will now pull more cleanly from lower rpm - it will no longer bog down!!!
