Just finished up the paintwork on mine and my son's Baja 1000's.This is the first time I've ever tried a multi colored paint scheme and I'm pretty happy with the outcome. All the colors used are pearls except for the orange and these things just light up in the sun.The pics do the colors no justice,ya gotta see these things in the sun.The passengers and drivers in the trucks are actually my son and I and of course,my dog Banks. All the stencil work was handcut by myself. The white background in the windows is masking tape that I removed after the pics were taken.Let me know what you guys think and thanks for looking.

Frank

Looks good Frank .
one ? notice the rear wing one swoops forward and one swoops back , werent they already assembled and glued together from MCD ,i know its pretty much cosmetic and all . regaurdless looks nice !

nice

Great job .

I love the drivers and the dog in the back

Frank looks like the MCD team is going to rule this season.

I am working on my frame for the EVO III out of light machined T6 with side stiffeners like the fg s are using.

I am hoping to get the MCD to 23 lbs .

I got it to 25 lbs now but more weight loss needed.

It s going to be a good season for all the boys .

LOTS of nice off road buggies on the horizon.

Stay warm

That's some sweat work!:cool2: What does it look like with the windows open now?

It looks allright.I'm going to tint the glass so the background doesn't look so cluttered with MCD guts.

Very nice work on both bodies!!

What did you use to spray them airbrush or can?

It was my very first use of an airbrush.I used Faskolor paints.

wow, thats pretty cool. those pics are great! the roof work looks awsome too!

The image on the orange car is just an image I found through Google Images.I kept what I wanted of the image and cropped the rest.I then printed it onto a piece of sign vinyl and proceeded to trim it with an Exacto knife and used it as my stencil. The image on the green car is the Logo for my son's favorite band"Avenged Sevenfold"(great music).I modified the image slightly and added fangs to the skull and used the same process of making a stencil as the first image.

Nice.
Like the roof work, and the driver pix. Liked the orang one more.

Again,I wish you could see these things in the sun in person. The images are done in pearl black with pearl silver used to give them dimension. They look 3 dimensional in the sun.The driver passenger pics personalizes our trucks and was really fun to do.I'll have to post a pic of my son as the passenger,he looks really funny.

That sounds great.I've already milled out a few parts for our trucks as well and I'm currently working on wheel adaptors. In spring I hope to lay some carbon fiber parts and was even thinking about making a carbon fiber gear plate.

Where are you located?

Frank

nice work riff raff, how did you do the photos of you and your boy....I see ddm has sticky stuff to glue pics in before you paint...did you use that or something similar? got to paint a rampage body shortly and want to do something different

Hey mooman,I used xxx-main lexan picture glue.I used a digital camera and took the pictures while we posed in my truck to get a realistic seating position.I then sized them appropriately and printed them out on regular printer paper and trimmed the images to fit the window opennings. The glue maker instructs you to apply glue to the image and stick it where you want it and then they tell you to squeegee the image with a damp paper towel to remove bubbles....don't do it.Just dab the back of the image with a dry finger to get bubbles out.The damp towel will soak through the image and ruin it(ask me how I know). The glue dries clear.Be sure to post up some pics of your Rampage when its done.

Frank

Those look really sweet! Love the colors you used on the both of them.

Thanks
