Kill Switch

Most modern radio 'sets' - Tx / Rx - have a built-in FAILSAFE.
The FAILSAFE relies on battery power, can detect signal loss, and will set the throttle / brake and steering at your pre-designated settings.

The KILL SWITCH does NOT rely on the battery.
In the event of signal loss, it will cut the engine. The FAILSAFE will slam on the anchors assuming the battery's still connected, sensing no signal.
In the event of POWER LOSS, the FAILSAFE cannot help you. The KILL SWITCH will cut the engine and the vehicle will slow down .... hopefully safely.

I use BOTH.
If I want an emergency stop, I switch off the radio - brakes on full, steering straight, engine cuts - stops an 18 kg FG MT from 40 mph to 0 in a short space - vented 'Tuning' cable brakes front and back.
