My Killer bee doesn't work properly (and I'm not sure it ever did consistently)

When I first installed it, it worked fine...shut radio off, engine dies...

Tested it couple different times ..OK..didn't bother testing it every time...Then I went to use it, and it didn't kill the engine.! yikes

After pulling it out, I checked all wires and they all looked un-frayed and screwed in properly...I reinstalled (left batt box open..)

started up, shut radio off and the engine sounded like it was starting to die, then just revved back up and kept running...

tried a couple more times and it killed engine only one more time,

the rest it just stutters and keeps running...

I know the 2s is supposed to have a delay at one point to wait for fail-safe or something like that.

Could I have a unit that branded wrong (not for the Spektrum) and not pausing?

What channel do you have it on? And does that channel have a failsafe setting on it? It's normally supposed to be put on the steering channel with no failsafe applied. If that's not the case, you can log onto the Killer RC forum and ask them directly.

it's common for the wires to come loose at the kill switch, not the kb end but coil end. had that happen. something else to check at least. also try a Y cable off the battery input and other channels like mentioned above.

Hey Deluge, I have it on the AUX channel on my DX2.0

(I know it's old, but still works great for how I bash)...

Not sure how I use my steering channel? a Y connector like Pipeous said?

and your saying not to set my Spektrum failsafe? but then the brakes won't engage when the engine dies?

Would you mind elaborating..Thanks

I have the DX2.0, as well. From what I've read, the best way to install it is to use a Y connector and hook it up to the steering channel. You can set the failsafe on the throttle/brake channel, that's not a problem. I can't find the specific post on the Baja forum, but Kent noted that the AUX channel on a 2 channel system won't work with the V2-S kill switch.

I know the V2-S has a 5 second delay so the engine shuts of completely before the failsafe kicks in. I just prefer to bypass that completely and install it on a channel without a failsafe.
