Hi all, new here and to the sport. I just purchased a King baja with a CY engine and all the aluminum upgrades. My question is in regard to engine cooling. I was running the car in the grass, and it seemed like the bodywork on the engine side "scoops" in grass, etc. I am sure this would eventually block the air flow to the engines flywheel and prevent air from flowing through the engines shrowd and cause over heating.

Is there an aftermarket part that fits in the bodywork that blocks large debris, but allows for air flow? Or, any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

ej

outerwares ,slammer rc mesh kits, screen mods and rb filter , chose any of those outwares the more common, slammer mesh kits zip tie on, if you have time do the screen mod, or if you have the funds the rb pullstart filter setup,

Thanks for the quick reply. I have the outerwears on the recoil unit - is this enough, or should I also put in a screen/mesh kit on the bodywork?

do a screen or mesh mod on the lower crank case vents that where grass gets sucked and stones that could break a fin on the flywheel, just have to brush it off every so often

when i run in grass i shove a piece of open cell foam into the side pod on the pullstart side of the car. keeps most of the debris from scooping in . aids in keeping the outerwears and screen clear of grass

The proline desert rat body has the rear side pods closed off. I hardly get anything in there with that body. Also get a pull start filter and you will have no problems.

ive noticed in some pics people have removed the shroud off the top of the engine, doesn't this affect the cooling of the motor? thats its function to direct air flow over the motor to keep it cool. so wouldnt it raise the temp of the motor

I partially removed the cover on mine, I think it looks better, but I just like seeing the engine. If I put my hand to the right side of the engine, I fan feel a strong breeze from the flywheel/fan so I would say it doesn't effect it at all.
