I am seeing so many models and versions of the King motors clones.What are the ones to stay away from.I know I should maybe go HPI but money is a factor. thanks for all replies.
 
the model with the 23cc engine is the ksrc-001, this unit is the least diserable...
if you get one of the newer models with the 29cc engine you will like it a whole lot more!
there are newer ones available with many upgrades that make a difference. contact dan on the forum or even easier on his ebay, his ebay and screen name is danlc4.. he can set you up with one and tell you all the differences between the models.
 
all depends on how mutch you got to spend, yea we,d all like the top spec buggy but the 23cc ain,t no slouch either theres not mutch if any diference in speed with the 26cc motor.
 
I found on Ebay Heathobby? How is this Guy.Even has a tuned pipe for 29.99 extra ??
truck sells 499.00 or best offer? What do you guy's think? I really want one of these buggies..Want to kiss nitro/electric 1/10th goodbye !!

rcmodelz emailed me yesterday, they have the 29cc alloy with 2.4ghz back in stock. £499 plus £10 postage.

here's a couple of pics of mine i bought from them about 6 weeks ago, so far so good, 1 with my HPI.

The only thing i'd concider changing are the Servos, there ok but i'll be up-grading to Hitecs soon.

What would that be in US dollors? Also do they ship to USA?

Buy from Dan, I bought two from him, choice of colors and tires, Ships right from New york, I bought mine for $619 each shipped to my door, had the one two days later and the other a week later, threw in a extra bags of parts, We run ours with two hbi ss's they wish they bought the king motor cars and saved the money they spent, Dan though is great on service, great deals on parts and answers all questions. The only issue I have had with my model 002 is one the steering servo quite after 3 weeks and the other I had to buy better engine gaskets, the second week it would not start I found a loose carb gasket and did not like the look of the others, but for $10.50 I bought of cy/zen gasket set. I highly recomend them and also Dan
 
Bluesman i got the km 3.0 30.5 full alloy, its a great car very reliable and for the price i think its worth getting 940us shipped

I'd stay away from alloy ones and the ksrc-001. I like the ksrc-002, 29cc still has plastic A-arms so if those happen to break get RPM ones or HPI if you think they're better. Aluminum can bend and cause accelerated wear on other parts and you wont notice it as fast. Plastic flexs. Not to say all aluminum parts are bad, turtle makes a lot of great stuff as do other people. If your intention is racing on the other hand and not bashing then something with Aluminum a-arms might suit you fine
 
just depends on what alloy parts your putton on, i would stay away from the arms, stick with plastic, if broke go rpms, i got a full set of rpms ready to go if mine break. stuff like shok towers, yah go alloy there, maybe the thicker TR top plate in rear and front, quiksplit tranny, i got one myself, and bulkheads front and rear, but leave the arms plastic, thattll be your main give points, and also leave the front skid and bumpers as is also, more give there in front end wreck too.
 
If you get one you should get extra E-Clips large ones and the small ones and an additional pull start.

The Eclips that come standard on the buggy, are a bit soft so you don't want to lose a wheel and then have no more play time for a 5 buck part.

Pull start is also poopy, especially since for the first few runs you might not have the starting technique down, so you might be pullying it to hard or flooding the engine so this will break too.

Best pull starts have a metal claw, but I found the HPI ones work very well too. The washer they use is much stronger, might be steel rather than aluminum.

Those pieces will keep you running till you break more standard pieces just from being rough ;-)

I bought mine from BrocoRon on ebay. Some people have mixed reviews of him but he was very responsive. At the time I wasnt aware of DanLCs , now that I have seen how active he is and the fact he is local to me I would probably go with him.

I got the 23cc (ksrc-001) from heat hobby about two months ago for $475 shipped. I also purchased the clone pipe for $29. I am on my third gallon of gas and no problems as of yet, except a few e-clips. Much faster then my monster beetle.

It also came with the the missing bearing installed, and a metal pull start claw.

i went back to plastic starter pawl on my 5b. the aluminum one jammed constantly and did some minor damage tot teh flywheel where teh pawl grabs.
