Threadlock metal to metal fasteners, rebuild diffs. replacing with thicker oil and check shocks top piston nuts for tightness. You will then enjoy better performance than a stock RTR Losi 5ive-T. Worth the hassle, IMO. Everything has held up well for my bashing.....-a former 5ive T owner.....

When you rebuild diffs make sure there is a gasket in each one, mine didn't have any so worth checking, other than that and what everyone else has said nice bit of kit.

Brought the X2 from rc modelz about 6 weeks agoguy from there is okay litre but rude but fast postage.

As for the The car it's self only put 4 tanks of fule through it and so far I've had the following problems:

Coil broke causing engine not to turn off (even before that crimp crimp connections soon came lose)

Fly wheel came loose which smashed it all up had to replace.

Engine pads came loose (19T losi engine pads are slightly out for the 19T spur gear so if you lose then you will have to replace with king motor 19T or buy the losi spur gear and engine pads to suit I've now got losi 18t spur gear with engine pads)

Center diff all loose tighten and thread lock

Tyres front pair splitting and not being abuses

Tyres forever coming out of bead lock

Air filter forever coming loose replaced with racing one with V-Stack

All gaskets of fulie30.5cc engine are shite would replace and use copper gasket spray can get on eBay

Stock pipe is good however poor design on manifold mount as you need a ball head Allen key to tighten and even then you can't frape up (Replaced with hex head bolts) also loud which some people might find annoying lol

Carb come lose

Pull start is wank would recomend replacing with stronger cored of buy a steel wire pull start or even more expensive a turtle v2 racing pull starter

Must admit servos are very good and control gear is very good (MAKE SURE YOU SET ALL ENDS POINTS ON CONTROL GEAR)

So basically a lot bit since I've re built the engine and issued thread lock everywhere and few upgrades such as air filter, vertigo open clutch housing, vertigo center diff to clutch mount, pull starter pre filter, new wheels etc all has been spot on

Standard practice with rc models, tear down and rebuild thread locking all metal to metal machine screws. Checking diffs and shocks.

pictures of your tyres would be good to see.

Oh so a lot of work to do then. Im new to the Large scale models and I don't think im able to do all the stuff you are listing. Is it worth me saving a bit more and buy the losi 5ive T. Thank you for all your replies

I was new to Petrol R/C first car I've ever brought however I've learnt a lot in the process so happy it's happend for future reference. Even with losi I would hand have been recomened by suppliers to still strip them and rebuild them as can be a nightmare is parts get lost.

Mine is fine now and if you decide to get the losi get the New RTR 2015 out end of his month will cost you £1199 .... If you go for the king motor be peppered to learn and get pissed of and think why did you spend all that money but once you've learnt he basic principles of trouble shooting problerms become easy to fix and people will always have answers on here for you.
Oh forgot to say like any engine she needs a lot of time and attention after every other usues such and cleaning checking for lose parts gaskets .... The basics but can all lead to big problerms :)

All the best in what ever you decide to get.

I shall upload picture of tyres tomorrow just putting my knobblys tonight

Go on losi5ive forum and read in general 5ive first run suggestions then come back you have more of the same problems for twice your money.;) plus you still have to tear down and rebuild and thread lock etc.

I agree with Casper and if you upgrade losi in future with parts you might as well get king motor as you would have to do the same regardless of what one you buy. If anything brakes on the king motor you can upgrade parts which will be better then losi parts and still have money I your back pocket......... Lol so he says no matter which car you buy you will never have money you will always won't more upgrades ;)

Anyone link any videos out there on how to replace oil in diffs ? Thanks

keep in mind the x2 or losi 5 are huge there for making them easier to work on. they really are a very simple design. buy the x2 then google the losi 5 manual and you will be fine. I took my x2 completely apart and loc-tighted everything metal before I ever started it. the only thing that has came loose is the carb and I did not loc-tight that. as for the little miss just buy it then ask for forgiveness its the easies way :)

I really have my eye on this. I have had no problem with my KM Baja, so I have full confidence in buying this one.

King Motor X2 diffs

:) REVOLAUNCHER when you say rebuild diffs. do you mean buy new internal parts and if so where do I buy them from or use original parts. Sorry for the dumbo question.

If you are one of the lucky few who has leaky diffs. there are 2 possibilities: poor assembly, ie. too thin oil, etc... and missing parts like main gasket or a nick in the o rings at the outdrive. I have seen both on Losi and King motors models. Sometimes the bolts just aren't tightened enough. The situation depends on removal and reassembly either way, just like a rebuild, you have to go over them and inspect thoroughly.

all 3 of my diff leaked when I got it. I just took them all apart cleaned everything really good and replaced the oil with thicker oil. the stuff from km was very thin, after that I have a gallon of fuel thru it and no more leaks.
