Does anyone have any knowledge on King Motors RC? I been kinda looking at their short course truck.....here's the link......

Does anyone know if they are any good? If Redcat had a 5th scale version of this truck, I would be considering it but they don't. I was told the King Motors RC stuff is a clone of the Baja stuff from HPI. I am ok with clones but just needed to know if they are any good. Thanks!
 
Just get an XT and throw on a sc body. Change the wheels. Done. The xt will be 4 wheel drive.
 
Km are a clone, yes. From everything I have read, the durability is roughly the same as hpi. Its a great way to get into the game with a solid base and upgrade as needed. You can buy a km with upgrades and still be cheaper then a stock hpi.

When researching km or any clone for that matter, you will need to filter a lot of the hate and bias against it. The word "clone" is almost a sin among many hpi forums.

But... get an xt or xb and throw a body on it. 4wd and parts sharing.
 
Thanks for the inputs guys, I am still looking. I will continue to do my research. I just thought if I went with the KM route, I can use HPI and RPM parts/upgrades.
 
For sure! I wouldnt mind having one just to get my foot through the door to a different kit... If the price is right and you plan to put name after market goodies on it! hell why not
 
I have a baja clone and once you start upgrading parts it's just an hpi platform with aftermarket parts and no one can tell if it's original or clone
 
This was once a king motor now she's just nasty lol and who cares what people say weather It's original or clone because they won't be able to tell and wish they had one like this lol

Dido...yeah, very nice looking truck for sure. Thanks for sharing.

As far as "clones", I honestly think sometimes they all comes from the same factories over seas. I mean seriously, some company probably decides to come in and say "hey, I want to buy your product and I'll just put my own brand name on it".....BAM, now you have an exact copy of something that is already out in the market with compatible parts. Maybe a few changes here and upgrades there and you've a new product line coming from the same factory made from the same people coming off the same assembly lines. I for one look for the best deals out there with the best reviews from others so why pay more for something that does exactly the same that cost twice as much. Hey superman I was thinking about going clone with the baja for the same reason the price and then upgrade with the name brand parts TR,RPM,kraken etc etc my question out of the box do you know if there is a difference between hpi or the clone I mean I've heard the parts are low quality thanks.
 
The parts are fine just when it breaks replace it with better ones like any normal RC but right off the back replace the servos they are all crappy even with the red cats then invest in a good radio and you are good to go
