As some of you may noticed, I've had a couple problems with the KM motor right now. Hopefully Ill have it resolved soon and its just something minor, but I'm wondering if I need new gaskets or parts for the motor where do I purchase ones that are compatible?

Are they stock zen parts?

your looking at CY parts
some zen parts fit, for better fitment CY parts are the parts KM cloned from,

is the clutch bolts and stuff the exception? for some reason I thought we were modeled off of a zen...

nope, the clutch housing is different between the zen and the cy,zen has a longer mount post which is set inward more and the cy has a shorter post and is set out more forward, along with the clutch holder the zen uses a bolt and lock washer, the cy uses a recessed 6mm screw and even the clutch shoes them selves zen are 9mm, the km are 8mm bolted, then you can go on, and on, on the engine itself from the covers which are off by 1/4" on some of the mounting holes, fan cover has a different guide pin set up, you can use some zen parts just some thing you might have to grind off guide pins, or get some different mounting hardware.

What about rebuild kits? If I decide to look at the OBR promount kits, would they work fine with our crankcase etc?

i can tell you now you wont want to use a high end head kit on a km crankcase, if your putting out the money for the head kit, just get the crankcase also,
you run the risk with using that rebuild kit on some lower quality engine parts and they could go out and cost you 2 times as much to get repaired

You are absolutely correct! That said, I meant like gaskets and stuff so I can keep them in my toolbox in case I need to open it up to do any work.

But you are right, I think I'm going to go the OBR fm lb route soon :)

Thanks!

gaskets you can can use, i use the reinforced gaskets from DDM a few $ more but they have a 40% crush rating and seal on imperfect surfaces great
