How durable ar ehte KM 5T bodies?

I bought a used on eBay for dirt cheap. It was dirt cheap because it had a few cracks. It is going to be used as a plug to make my fiberglass mold as my original HPI 5T body is really torn up from the rear fenders on. After doing some body work on the KM body, fixing the cracks and trying to make it smooth, I just got fed up and was lucky to win a new one on eBay for cheap. Comparing the HPI and KM body, the KM bodies feel a bit different. For some strange reason it does not feel like other Lexan bodies I have in my hands. Are these KM bodies made of Lexan? I seriously doubt it. I am wondering how these KM bodies will handle the heat from laying up some fiberglass on it to make my mold.

Those with the KM 5Ts, how does the bodies hold up? Do they shatter, crack or what?

i was looking at converting my 5b to a t,, and was thinking of the k,m conversion kit because the hpi one is way to exspensive some guy told me the k,m shells fall to bits quite quick i don,t think they flex like lexan they seem a lot more brittle.

mine has splits ans cracks after only few runs, theyre not very durable, get yourself a body from woodster, its like 3 times thicker and much more durable than stock.

+ 1 Get the woodster its most probs works out cheaper getting
a woodster than getting a hpi body or a clone one!

RCP is also i good solid body too but i don't like them they look
terrible there not my cup of tea! (sorry RCP if you read this)

but your best bet is ither Woodster or RCP

Well like I mentioned, I will be using these KM bodies as a plug to make a fiberglass mold. So I could pop some 5T bodies out of fiberglass. I hope to at the very least pop may be a dozen or so out of each mold. I could do some variations of the body, like make it wider or whatever with some putty and make another mold. Kind of ironic, I will be cloning a clone body.

By the way, I purchased a few RCP wide bodies a month or so ago. So far I only got done trimming one, just need to sling some paint on it.

woodster also has the widebodies as well, as the regular ones, still 3 times thicker than a stock KM body and prolly will hold up longer and better than a FG one
