now after i got most of the parts in to do some upgrading on my km baja i was surprised,
at what?
well after i started to take a part the chassis, gears and diff case.
not only was everything that i could not reach before that was metal to metal lock tighted, but a B***h to get out, diff was well lubed, and everything pretty much was assembled like if they gave a crap. and nothing like i hear about or read about.that you have to check all that and more,or they don't use any lock tight , under lubed , etc,

just something that i was not expecting as i took apart the buggy.

prolly theyve gotten word of all the lil complaints, and are trying to up the quality a bit, by rectifying those complaints some. at any rate, sounds like ya got a good one. mine had no lube in diff, and some bolts not tight or no loctite, but wasnt a issue really since almost from the getgo, i upgraded, all alloy split diff housing, TR one piece brake , all alloy upper front and back shock towers, and mounts. etc... anyways, get yourself a KB to put in that engine, you wont regret that at all.

good to hear they have got there poop together , i think k,m are moons ahead of hpi with new models coming out all the time ,hpi put a new shell and some mud flaps on and everyones excited at the new model.

so far with my re-assemble is slow going since parcels slowed to not showing up the suspension upgraded and the rear diff, kill switch partially in,waiting on killer rc parts and more integy parts as well as a roll cage, but crap some of these screws just wont budge had to heat them up and even that was not working, so far the only thing KM did not do was lube the dog bone boots but that was a quick fix since i had it disassembled anyway.

Hey Joe you need a tool called grabit pro to remove any stubborn bolts

How the hell did that happen???:( I can see by the third pic that there is a crack in the fan side as well,do what Jas said and change the whole case.
DDM has them with bearings so there will be no messing around pressing them in also.

o.k. im getting both halves,a new set and used from hotrod, but that little piece looks like a nut, mangled from being bounced around in the crankcase, not sure where it came from, the conrod and head are fine the crank has a score on the balancers, and the piston skirt is chipped, whet ever that nut came off of got caught in between the crank and the crankcase and blew it out, but looking at the nut scrap it was in there for a while, might of been caught in between the crank balancers and came finally came loose,i'm also submitting the claim to the seller mix wholesalers on amazon, but you guys know them as heat hobby on ebay, less then 1 tank of fuel ran thru it,

chitown stay on them as it took me 4 or 5 emails to get my replacement topend kit when my motor went bad . but they should come through for you

betting it was a nut dropped in there from factory as it was built and they didnt realize it or did and sed aww heck with it, a factory screwup is what it looks like to me, stay on them bout it, wished ya had got it from Dan tho, one email and he woulda got it sorted out for ya.

sorry to say dan is affiliated with them,i wanted to get some spare parts from him, but he told me he had to order from his distro and what do you know that distro was heat hobby, aka mix wholesalers, and there main importer is some guy names james spohn in florida,i tend to look into things when it comes to high dollar amounts

alls i know is Dan worked with me on a few things i got from him, no probs at all. and i didnt have to send more than one email to him on anything, he replied and dealt with it. he never told me anything bout being in with heat hobby, this is first i ever heard of it.

i'm sure dan is not sharing the building with them, but he's does deal with them,i went with amazon first since im a prime member,
but your most likely right that dan handles things differently, since he's a more well known seller, but i had already bought mine from amazon, and did not hear about dan till i came on here,
heat using 2 different seller names heat on ebay and mix wholesalers on amazon, so i'm sure they are not worried if they lose a buyer on a website because they have the other to fall back on,

next time anyone buys a km baja from any seller here in the states and they have the original import box on the outside look at the importer label most likely its james spohn

alright after much argueing he refuses to honor his written warranty to me via email, and he will leave it up to amazon to decide, at least you guys know what to expect from heat hobby/mix wholesalers.
amazon will take a week to decide now, not really the point of the engine more that this guy lied about the warranty he offered me
