well like i said in recent posts i tried everything to get it started. so i got fed up with it and took it to a small engine repair shop. They said i have only 30% compression. So i was thinking was it how i broke it in? it had only 4 tanks through it. i always ran it a bit on the rich side.
I would just like to know for when i get a new motor so i don't make the same mistake.

Engine Break-in Procedure

New engine break-in procedure

1. Take it easy on the engine for the first two tanks

2. Heat cycle twice, run the engine for 20 minutes and let it fully cool down
3. We recommend 91 octane fuel, mixed at 25:1 Our preffered oil is Castor 927
4. Let your engine warm up before driving
5. Try to vary the rpms during breaking.
5. DO NOT HOLD FULL THROTTLE UNTIL THE ENGINE IS COMPLETELY BROKEN IN!!!
7. Do not use octane booster

+1 the best way to break in a engine. IMO.

Turn it over a few times without firing up.
Prepare 25:1 ratio 2-stroke fuel.
Fire up and idle for 5 minutes.
Gently run for 10 minutes, varying throttle but never more than a few squirts of half throttle, no more.
Start increasing throttle input - heat cycle for half a tank.
CHECK HEAD BOLTS - check plug. Replace plug if too oiled up / sooty.
Check engine mount bolts while you're at it.
Change fuel to 32:1 and REV THE NUTS OFF IT!!

We all know the Voo theory.
25:1 of course.
Fuel it, fire up, rev the nuts off it.
Actually how 1:1 engine get highest power outputs, before they fail, and used when preparing for performance data I've read on several occasions!

being that it's a stock km engine i would say it never had 100% compression, so thats half the prob. probly came with about 60-70% only after 4 tanks of fuel it got brought down, get a true cy piston ring from ddm about $6 change the ring and you should be good to go

Just a ? did they (the small engine repair shop get it going)
or collect $ and send you on your way .....

Compression checks on engines vary depending on shop and mech. ?

IF IT HAS ANY COMPRESSION AT ALL THE ONLY THING YOU NEED IS FUEL/FIRE/AIR..................
