I charged battery & it fired 1st time & failed MOT on 2 bulbs :cool2: Not bad for 22 yrs old!! Maybe next kids hols in October if we cant fit it in now or just a weekend whenever. Would be good fun if nothing else and our kids are simliar ages.

Wrong Dwarfy! I have been very busy chatting to a lovely woman who is presently overseas, which is a much moire worthwhile pursuit!

Bottom line people, if you have a runaway, and you don't have a killswitch fitted, SERVES YOU BLOODY RIGHT!

Trebor offered a totally irrelevant issue about the quality of the KM radio, which (as I have repeated) cannot possibly replace the absence of a killswitch. Then someone else chimed in that their 3rd channel didn't activate their killswitch..

Simple answer >turn off the transmitter (for a moment)!< That's what I do, as it removes any possibility of the TX having some internal problem.

I would like to thank all the contributors to this sorta viral thread now, and would like to return to chatting up my lady friend, who is heaps more interesting :D:D:D

can i add my 2 pence on the km controllers, going to anyway.
i too have a 2.4 km controller and i've not had any faults with mine, fingers crossed.
i know voo had issues with his kill switch not binding with his and he had dodgy servos and my other mate also had a receiver fault but that wasn't the controller.
i haven't got a kill switch on the km set-up as after seeing what happened to voo there was no way i'd try one on the km.
yes if mine does run away it is my fault for not fitting some sort of engine cut off and i'm prepared to take full responsibllity for that.

just my thoughts.

Jackobyte, you just knew I would have to respond didn't you? :D:D
Your logic is as unrealistic as deciding to never eat food because Mama Cass choked on a sandwich!

I defy anybody to explain how a killswitch won't work if the transmitter is switched off, even a crap one.

at deesid this week my car just wouldnt turn of at the 3rd channle so i turned it of an turned the battry on and of and it worked agen this made me order the radio petes go forgot its name
mike

Tony what happens in this situation ..........by the time the transmitter 3rd

channel worked .......the car could have been and run away:w00t:

we could tie a long piece of string between our cars and transmitter ....for piece of mind

just in case

I guess if you stand there with your mouth open and watch your car smash to pieces before switching either 3rd channel or the main Tx switch, a killswitch won't help you. I don't understand what you are saying... that it is slower to turn off the Tx and hit the switch for 3rd channel?

The piece of string comment is stupid

Good idea Keith and if we all use different coloured string we will be able to tell who's car it is. Kinda like the old crystals

.......or maybe cut an old tyre & fit it round the car for protection like the dodgems at the fairground
