im working on this air filter oil. i know, i have WAY too much time on my hands and should probly be doing something productive. one of my customers owns some kind of petrolium company and they make all kinds of greases and diffrent types of lubes and he's helping me out with a pretty good formula for our application. he is giving me a good education on what makes a good filter oil, like how to make it waterproof but still breathable as well as thinning it down and not losing any "stickyness" or something that isnt going to deform our filters.. the thing is he sells this stuff in 55gallon drums and has skimmed me off a gallon of a few diffrent products wich he refers to as the "recipe"..
at this moment i am using the hpi stuff that i get from my hobby shop, but "my new stuff" is way better. i got it to a nice thin consistancy, but its sticky like peanut butter..EWW!
so any thoughts on this? like "wow, nice waste of time" or "good job slacker" or "great, now you have 2.5 gallons of filter oil"
