Hi guys im new to the forum:) i've just brought myself a KSRC-001 but unforunatly ive picked up a faulty one im unable to get it started, i don't seem to be getting any spark at the plug, i've tested the plug on something else & that seems ok so is it likely to be the ht lead/ignition coil? how easy are these to replace is it possible to do with the engine fitted? thanks in advance

first check coil spacing using a header card and see if that get it going, if not, check the spark plug wire itself at both coil and sparl plug end for loose connections or breakage (you could even try replacing the spark plug wire alltogether with a craftwerks rc one). then you could look into replacing the coil, it isnt hard to do just make sure to gap it properly ;)

no problem, always check the simplet (and cheaper LOL) things first, one more thing to check is your killswitch and killswitch wires. if your killswitch wires are touching each other or the engine it will cause teh engine to not fire

+1on that, use a business card as the gap setting, slacken screws off slightly and put card between the coil and magnet, push down on the coil then tighten screws.

has it got a kill switch fitted and if so make sure its on or disconnect the cut off switch which is connected to the coil and see if it sparks..if it does then you will need a new cut off switch which are alot cheaper than a coil..

i've managed to get it working with all the great advice:) the coil was poorly aligned, i regapped it using feeler gauges i didnt think of the buisness card i'll remember that for next time, i aso gave the ht lead a nip up & it all seems to of done the trick it cracked up on the second pull, now i can have some fun:D cheers again
