I love my 1/8 Ramiantor MT, but that's by Losi.
I've heard of GV Models, but it's not that big a name.

Problem is, IT WILL get broken. When it does, can you locate the parts?
How easy is it to work on?

How about a Losi 8ight?
How about the brushless 8ight?

Why not just go for a Savage, T-Maxx, Revo, LST - big names with loads of spares (and hop-ups unfortunately !!!! :lol::lol::lol ??

I'd go for a known brand with good spare parts availability, particularly as it's for your lad, who won't accept downtime, even if it's his fault

600 quid is a bit rich......and he reckons he spent over 2000 quid on it...

He is either full of poop or he got horribly ripped off....

I personally wouldn't bother with it as GV stuff is not easy to find...

And it's a nitro............YUK...
