I noticed today that my JetPro tuned pipe has started leaking around the black part of the muffler. This part are only hold in place with two pop rivets.
I tried taking it out and sealing it with some exhaust paste, but it only worked for one tank of fuel. Anyone noticed this on their pipe? Would there make any problems if the pipe has this leak? It sure makes some mess, but I can live with that if it don't do anything for the performance.

I would try to solve the leak because the more back pressure you get the better performance you'll get...... can you seal the leak by using a peice of hose and zip ties as the vrc and ddm pipe use ? can you also post a pic of you pipe so i can better understand it

This is where it leaks:

Oh ok what i would do is drill out the rivets remove the end of the pipe clean it all up also clean the inside of the pipe and apply a good exhaust sealant, put it back together you could probably add two extra rivets so total of 4, let the exhaust sealent cure over night before you use it....

Sent a email to JetPro asking them about this, they replied that it was normal.

ME:
"Yes, that is OK, but it also leaks exhaust between the black part and the chrome part. I can't belive that's the way it should be.
It leaks at the place where my arrow is pointing!!"

JETPRO:
"yes tom I understand and like I said any two stroke motor after enough use is going to leak oil out of the end of the pipe cuz there is oil mixed in the gas and like i said once the silencer insulation gets oil soaked it will should be replaced , that is normal maintenance for any two stroke with a silencer."

They don't seem to understand my question, or they think this is OK.
I do not think this is OK and I will try to seal the leak.

if you are planning on getting it welded, get it tig welded it wont mess up the chrome and it leaves a nice finish. i had to do the same thing with my previous jetpro when i had a crack right the way through. sorted the problem for me.
hope you get it fixed
