so the last time i took the truck out its was all good tell the end.i drove it back to me and it was reving a lil high and sounding lean. plug looks fine. so thats when i ordered all the new parts. (intake, 990 carb). well got it all ready and for it to run i have to have the lsn at 2+ turns out.... so ive tryed all differ combos like putting the stock carb back on, stock intake, stock carb with new intake.... all doing the same. and she still wont idle down. so i pulled it all apart and checked the head bolts, one was a lil loose. so i tightened it up. still doing the same.....any ideas?

Have you checked for air leaks around the carb the intake manifold might be leaking or have warped and is letting in extra air to the fuel mix.

Can I use just rtv only on that. ? Be nice if there's a lil room to get the comp up a lil bit. If not, should I just get a paper one or are the Cooper ones OK? Also I'm seeing on the side of the jug that was loose there's a wet spot around the gasket ...

That will work that is probably the problem there should not be a wet spot around the gasket. The paper gasket works fine.

Well ill try and find a gasket here locally, if not I will use some rtv. I will let u know the outcome. Thanks for all the help.

I believe that your local parts store would carry sheets of paper gaskets you would cut your own out of it.

pulled apart and the jug /head gasket was in pieces. made myself a gasket out of a form-a-gasket package. then used some on it :) test it tomorrow. hopefully that will get me though the weekend lol.
