Some people have asked if a leopard 5692 can fit in an XBE. Yes, it will fit, and I will do it, but the problem I am having is the gear ratio. You can get one with 540 kv up to 1350 kv running on anywhere from 6c to 20c.
Thats a VERY wide RPM range to cover with the few gears I can make fit.
I'll need to run a 48 tooth main gear to clear the drive train or the motor won't fit. I can get pinion gears from 10 to 16 to fit so...
That will give a ratio from 4.8 to 1 down to 3to1. I think this about right for the 1000kv motor with 10c. With the 48/16 gears on 10c you would go about 60 mph. ( I don't know the drive train ratio so I'm guessing) The CC1717 does about 50 mph on 6c with a 4.1 to 1 ratio (1580kv)
For super top end you could use a 46 main and an 18 pinion for a 2.55 to 1 ratio but you would have to be insane.
This motor mount will also fit the CC1717 and fix the need for pinion gears smaller than 10. In fact any motor smaller the 5692 will fit.
Whatever motor/kv/c's you run you'll have a gear ratio's from 4.8 to 1 down to 3 to 1. The leopard 5692 will only have a range of 4.0 to 1 down to 3 to 1
Does this sound like the kind of gearing you want???? comments please.
