What's the best way to repair clear lexan/polycarbonate shells

I know if you have a crack to drill a hole at the end and that will stop it creeping.

but do you have any other ways to seal up the crack or do you just tape it up ??

Just use drywall tape

cheers guys

normally I just duct tape over it after drilling a small hole but it never lasts that long....
so it got me thinking

I also have done the drywall mesh tape and shoe goo. But from my experience, it's only a temporary fix. Better off placing an order for a body and some paint and doing the quick fix for now.
