had the fg out today for a brief 20minutes, tried gears 20/44 - 17 layshaft out. Using these slightly taller gears made it more noticeable that the spool up time was better and engine just seems raspier.
Again , a good even idle and nice nice smooth pull through to the max rpm's. I haven't noticed any problems as yet when driving at low speed and lower rpms but i must admit, i was running mostly WOT so probably wouldnt have noticed anyway .
'i haven't had much use since the lightened f/w has been installed but i am expecting there could be some negative effects as atom pointed out. next time i use the fg , i will run it around the low - mid rpms to see if theres any problems.

Any flywheel can explode regardless of if it's got a mesh mod or not.

I totally agree. But in my experience, I have seen lightened ones explode alot more then stock ones. Usually a fin or two or three will break off a stocker which is still useable where as a lightened one just blows up and is not useable. Just my opinion and of course the lightened ones can be operator error but I am going on info I have read on the DS ones. And Ted (Darksoul) himself has stated these were for more the racer and not the basher. My self lightened one exploded from operator error as I removed to much material but my others have held up great.
