What is census on lightened flywheel? Is the extra rotating mass better with the needed torque of the MT tires?


I have a mill with a rotory table so lightening the flywheel is a piece of cake, but at what price? Extra heat? Loss of low end grunt?


The motor I have in question on this procedure is a 35 mm bore 28 mm stroke ( +2 mm) stuffed crank.
 
The flywheel on my buggy is lightened don't know about balanced but lightened although I'm running a stock 26 in it. the fins on the engine side are still fully intact so I don't notice any cooling problems at all. Next time I'm out we'll have to do some testing!!
