I have just got this up and running and I only have about 25 Percent steering lock before the brake cable boss hits the suspension arm. Now I admit this is a Junkyard (ebay) marder made up off this and that when better parts for the touring cars came up...but As mentioned Ihave setthe end point adjustment onthe radio to 25 percent before these hit

any advice or hints as I need a big place to drive with very poor turning circle
cheers

good thought...but the travel limit stops, long grub screw, are fitted over the bulkhead A boss so reversing the arms means the two wont meet. But might be worth a shot.

you have the plastic hubs which seem to mount the calipers on the front of the hub...the alloy ones I have mount them to the steering arm side.

but my other marder has the same plastic hubs as you and I see they will cause the same problem if I was to mount the calipers up front..
not sure if FG have different calipers or arms to go with these or not..
then again we both have Baja arms and not Marder arms fitted...that could be part of the problem..

looking forward to a solution to this as I did plan on fitting front brakes to my plastic Marder..

you say that some parts came from your touring car was the cable brakes off that if so then its the part the cable goes into as there shorter on the touring cars as they run smaller wheels but the off road ones are a tad taller which should lift the cable up so it clears the arm giving you more travel

+1 @ renbar

looking at the pics it is the cable holder guide that is hitting the arm first ...looking at mine they are a lot taller using the taller brake levers too...more power through leverage too

long levers are 08461/3
short levers are 08461/2

long cable holders are 08487/6
short cable holders are 08487/5

all available from rossmods and others..

just a thought but remove the cable holders and see how far the steering turns...??

ive found mine are the same and are hitting the arms i think i may be able to modify it so cables sit higher ill let you know if it works day off tomoz and hopefully my bits will arrive (new alloy rear end) so having a full day of tinkering.:w00t:

you can get more stoping power like this as well by getting some hydro disc's which are larger and space the caliper out a bit this set up works very well and can be done cheap disc's are allways on ebay and 10-20 mins making a spacer from alloy and 4 longer bolts for the calipers job done
