Hey guys. Well I'm new to this still haven't run my XT yet. I know I've asked before but what screws need to be lock-tied before I run? I know everyone says any screw touching metal but does that include even screws on the engine such as the cover or the two screws holding in the ignition?? Can anyone give me a rough number of screws that need this?

Also, when running the Killer Bee switch from the engine, is it ok to run the grey cord just inside the black plastic near the heat sink and coming out in front ofthe engine? This is the only way I didn't have to drill anything...

That spot for the bee is just fine...

I don't know about the number of screws, but each of the dogbone cuffs could use some locktite, as well as the two screws under the pullstart side of the engine. The four holding the pullstart on and the four holding the flywheel cover on. On the XT you will save yourself from stripping a wheel if you locktite your wheel nuts too. That's the main ones I can think of at 4 am... go run that thing and have a good time!!!

That's where I ran my kill switch cable. It's fine. You don't really need to touch any bolts on the engine, just the mounting bolts. The three that go through the gear plate to the clutch housing and the two that go through the bottom of the chassis to the flywheel cover.

I had to loc tite the flat head screws that hold the center drive ring gear, set screws on drive cups. I also did the bolts and screws/nuts on the gear plate. I upgraded to hpi hubs, but had a stock nylock nut loosen up and stripped a stock wheel.[add loctite]

I don't think anyone has ever counted. Like Deluge said just the mounting screws. Every screw from under the chassis that thread into metal are a must. They seem to vibrate loose the quickest.

That's what I did.

Guys thanks you so much. Lucky me I broke the screw head inside the ignition so now I have to get a damn screw extractor. Thanks for the killer bee advice.
