hey guys got my alloy clutch housing combo through bit of an ebay bargin woop, anyway ya with it i got a massive 48tooth i always get confused with the words for each gear i know the small gear on the cluch is the pinion isnt it so ya 16 pinion and 48 spur is it?

so ya thinking of for a bit of fun running a few different combos on my 29cc touring car, going up for the 16 to 18 and 20 pinion gears, i'm running an 18 on the layshaft think it is that links to the diff gear.

what do you guys think will happen will the car just go totally mental, from what i can tell the gearing is off a monster truck so who knows what will happen.

sorry but i agree with mike its just no good wheels are far to small for that gearing the lowest you can use without it being all revs and no go is @ 20/44 ive run that ratio was ok very quick but needed that little bit more top end and that was with a 23cc so a 29cc is going to be hard work,,,,ive since changed to 22/44 waiting to try this set up so cant tell you what its like just yet

heey mike n ren ya i suspected it would be nuts and just go along slow reving making a racket. Ya with the 29cc i usually use a 24 or even sometimes a 25t with i cant remember my spur size but the standard size for a touring car.

was thinking of doing the gearing for a laugh but might give it a miss if its going to wreck the tyres and other bits possibly.

ill put some pics up soon changed my fg over to a nice shiney new chassis its still a comp chassis but shiney niceee lol.

nothing wrong with the comp chassis mate theres a masive amount of work gone into them plus there 8mm think and look the nuts i love mine that was polished up but its gone a bit dull now so may redo it over the winter rebuild

with my stock cy26 i ran 25/40 and even 25/39 on a medium length track. i didnt use this so much for more speed, i used it to calm the torque down out of the corners. now that im running a cy/zenoah 23cc thats ported i find 24/40 works well, not nearly the low end torque to upset the car while exiting a corner.
