Bad thing is that this is a birthday present for my 6 yr old son. So I cant run it until June 18th (That's why the hubs still have the factory bubble wrap on them). DOH! At least I can start the upgrades and loctite the entire truck before he gets it.
 
Nice, I never been jealous of a 6 yr old but today I am lol, teach him how to drive it responsible we do'nt need any more 5th scale to camera man injury photos.

I used his birthday as the reason to buy it. He drives his 10th scale responsibly & we have acres of fields for him to practice on.

my seven year old grandson has been running my m/t since I got it and when I got the d/r he pretty much took it over. I sometimes think he drives better than I do. about three months ago I decided to try to teach him how to fly a helicopter so I broke out my old blade 120sr. he ran five battery packs though it without crashing. totally amazed my buddy and myself since we both learned on the same kind of heli and in nether of our cases did we do it without some crashes. kids!!!
 
My 4yr daughter has been helping me drive and work on my rcs for the past 2yrs shes really good with a screw driver :) not so good at driving though:rolleyes:

Not to be negative, but I think that's completely irresponsible to put it in a 6 yearolds hands..if a parent dose do such a thing its because you haven't experienced a 5 scale hitting a person yet..imagine how many times you've driven a rc car and last minute had to move cause you got too close to yourself? My son is 7. He's hit me, his sister, houses. He only drives his 1/16 summit and it stays in traning mode. Its cool you wanna trust your 6 year old, and the person with the 3yo driving the buggy, your insane. These things require responsibility. As good as your young child is, they don't have it yet.. hell. Last time my 11 yo was out I heard her say " hey Christian, look" 2 seconds later he jumped and her brush less rustler flew under him..that was easily a broken leg.you guys need to check out what happens when the bad happens, I sat in the er for hours and nursed my fiance for months after my mt hit her..it was out of control ,but it was still my fault..the thing I hate most is my 5scales draw a crowd. Imagine your 6yo hitting another kid at 35 MPH with a 40 pound chunk of aluminum and plastic.. sorry for the rant, but you can never see the danger till it happens once.

A huge field and a Baja with the end points on the throttle turned down is plenty safe.

Its cool..its just one of those realities you can never fully grasp till your faced with it. I'm glad you take per caution. But not everyone dose.. we all live and learn, but some lessons are better off never being taught. Stay safe, if your gonna let the little ones play, stay on your toes..
 
My 7yr old has 2 of its own his radio is turn down and he can only drive it when I am with him on the track and at a field and its been over a year and driving and no problems. With not being able to make it go full speed and training and you closely supervising I can see where there should be no problems at all and its great fun for you and your child.
