Cat 5 Rings And Dark Soul Boots came in the mail today. i gotta say that this truck is extremely easy to wrench on. compared to my baja anyway

NICE, What did you use to hold the big end of the boot with? I used HPI boots on mine and I had to "safety wire" mine to keep them tight.

The Cat 5 rings make it possible to use boots designed for the HPI Baja. I have those on mine as well, althought im running bootless in the center.

I JUST PUT ZIP TIES ON THE SMALL ENDS FOR NOW. THE DARK SOUL BOOTS ARE ALOT TIGHTER THAN THE HPIs SO HOPEFULLY THEY WILL STAY PUT. DO YOU GUYS RUN LUBE IN YOURS?

I run a light coating of Sl33k which is a silicone based paintball lubricant, its dow 33.

I noticed your V3 has different upper plates and chassis stiffener.

The HPI boots fit fairly tight but they will move without something on the big end. I used some really small wire on them. I put graphite in mine....maybe it will keep wear down and not collect any dirt.

my front ones seem to bunch up a little at the knuckle other than that they have been staying put with the zip ties

oh yeah look at that. i have never seen the v2 ones till now
