Hi all, I'm looking for some advise on a 4wd monster truck. I already have an XTM Grizzly, 2 Traxxas Monster Buggies, and an HPI Baja 5b, but they're all 2wd. I want a 4wd truck now. I'm currently looking at either the Redcat Rampage (the new one), or the MCD Monster truck. I kind of want the MCD truck, but have heard that parts availability is horrible, and since I want to bash this thing (no racing), having a good supply of parts is important, which makes me consider the Rampage. The truck needs to be pretty stout, becaue I'll probably be beating on it pretty good (not as hard as my Savage, but it'll still be beaten) Any advice on either of these trucks, or maybe a different one? Thanks for your help

Besides the Redcat, look into the Nutech Mega Beetle or Mega Monster, I just got one (Beetle) and i,m very satisfied, great truck and very stout like you're looking for. www.nutechracingusa.com, talk to Scott, he'll square you away.

I'll second what Oskygt said! Although the Nutech was my first 1/5 and I don't know anything else. But, Scott talked me into the new Thunderbolt III and installed monster tires and put a Beetle body on it for me! If you want customer service, Scott is the man!!!

Scott is the man but if you want quality then i would spend a little extra $$$ and buy a Hurrax which Scott now carries.

I've been watching some videos of the Nutech Monster Beetle. It's very impressive. Looks like just what I'm looking for. How's the parts availability? Are there any things I should be looking to upgrade, or is it that great out of the box? I like the shell too, but are they easy to find?

MCD and FG parts are both pretty easily found on LargeScaleRC, Daves Motors, and eBay - both MCD and FG would be the ones I'd recommend checking out.

As with any other RTR and I learned the hard way, a complete tear down and inspection and adding loctite to metal to metal grubs and bolts is a must. Replace the servo's and add a pipe and your rockin! My TBIII has 2 steering servo's which I think is important with the massive tires on a MT. I looked seriously at the Redcat but with everything I read, there were a lot of upgrades needed to be where my Nutech is. Every part I have needed was available through nutechracingusa.com Scott's customer service is great!
