I have the Duratrax firehammer and I just can't get the engine to run right. Its the non-upgradable version, so I'm looking to just replace it with a 26 or 29cc engine.

What should I look for and at what price? Thank you

Man, that's how much I paid for my Firehammer. How much more power would I be gaining with a engine like that? Acceleration? Any change in top speed without changing gearing?


Another question, is the g270 really that much better than a g260? I see g260's for sale for $100 less than g270's.

Your looking at 4 bolt topend on the G270...In my opinion I feel better for the topend cylinder toset on the lower case.....As for my self I built a 4 bolt zenoah engine...
cuz I wanted too..But cost more that the 1 in the link......I also went to smaller wheels
& tires.....I still use stock gearing ..I am pushing 50MPH....Be a different game when the
2spd is installed with different gearing.....should hit 60Mph on asphalt.....
The G260Rc engine is a great engine.....If I had only 1 choice I would pick that...Slaw

I think I'm going to go with the g260rc. I'll use the $100 savings for a tuned pipe.
 
I think what Roger said ,it is a good engine but way over the top if your just bashing. IMO I would go with the Zen G260RC,loads of grunt and at a great price too!
