Basically I noticed that my steering servo is plastic inside (the top part, i didn't took apart bottom). So are there any suggestions about which one to get? If no suggesting then can someone please kindly provide me requirements for steering servo?

P.S. PS I love 5th scale and rampage tt with 30.5 and jet pro. Amazing beast
 
I run the 2- Hitec 5745s in mine and they turn my 5b wheels and tires like a champ. They also do really well on some MT tires I have. RonE has a single 5745 on his all aluminum MT SC conversion and it does a fine job.
 
The Hitec 5745 isnt that expensive :)


The others may work fine but I have zero experience with them.

Also I think my steering servo is dying because with weight on it doesn't not go all the way back to the center after turning. But when I lift up the car then wheels will return back to center normally.


I need servo with more KGs right?
 
For a battery it depends on how long you want to run with what setup. I run 1 digital steering, one digital throttle, and aritronics 2.4ghz. That setup doesn't even use 500man per tank! With a quality charger I can get 3 tanks out of the stock 2000mah pack. You can also use life with out a regulator. Lipo can be used with a regulator or without if you have poroper servos. Lipo will also save a ton of weight. Life will save some weight.

OK So for now I have air filter coming, Venom 6V 4200mAh battery, Hitec 5745 Servo.


All I need now is radio (R&T) to work with rampage 3rd channel killswitch/failsafe.


I have traxxas AM, 2.4GHz, and 2.4GHz Link. None of those work with failsafe because traxxas sends data to killswitch all time. So any suggestions for cheap and good radio system? Budget for R&T is around 70-80 bucks. =\

I'd check with killerrc before buying it to make certain their killswitches will work with it. You might even find a thread over on hpibajaforum.com
 
Yea I saw killer bee. I think if rc/tr will work with killer bee then it will work with stock kill switch. Also I got my engine fixed :)
 
airtronics 2.4 mx sport works good it has a 3rd channel i use one on my rampage and 5b holds 10 channel memory and you can get one from i think it was tower hobbies for 79.99
 
On the sport the switch is at the front like where you would expect a charge jack to be, in front of the trigger. It is very awkward and the switch does not stick out enough, its almost flush, hard to flick in a panic situation. One of your hands will probably have to leave either the wheel or the trigger to flick it. I have the FG and Sport. I will NOT use the sport on 1/5 because the FG has a lever sticking out for the 3rd channel right by the thumb. Its very easy to flick without fumbling especially in a panic situation.
 
All you have to do is cut 2 of the nipples (top 2 or bottom 2) I did the top 2 and drilled new holes for the top 2 so the servo sits closer to the chassis like the stock ones. If you cut the bottom 2 off, the servos will sit a little bit off the chassis and work fine giving a bit of a buffer between the chassis. I just didn't think that far ahead when I got my 5755's *same as 45's with more torque....$5 more ea. I run 2 in the MT and those wheels stay where I want!!!
