So I have an issue with one of my T’s. I ran the truck a week ago. I went to run it today and noticed a pool of oil underneath the air filter. It is definitely leaking out of the air filter because I can see the dark spot on the outerwear. Anyone have an idea of what could have caused this as I’ve never seen this before. Has old Zen. G290 w/ velocity stack triple foam filter.

Filter may be over oiled and collecting/running out the bottom a bit
I’d take it off and see if it’s real oily on the bottom if it is squeeze out excess oil onto a rag or paper tower

Thanks, Deathrawt. I just checked as you said. Filter doesn’t seem to be too oily. Not enough to squeeze any oil out. It ran like a champ last week. Now, I’m worried something is bad with the engine. I hope not! Wanted to see if anyone on the forum had seen or had this type of issue before.

Think Is it possible for fuel spray to go backwards from carb out into the filter?
Maybe take off filter and fire it up and see if there is fuel spraying out of the carb

Thanks RcJunkie. Yes, I was thinking the same thing at first but I wiped some off and it’s oil. Inspected the fuel tank to make sure there were no cracks. Fuel tank is fine. Im thinking Deathrawt was correct and it was just a build up of filter oil. It was a new filter after all. Although, I’ve never seen this happen with a new filter before. Just a little concerned, hopefully piston ring is not shot.
