Well guys,


I stumbled upon this:http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Losi-5IVE-T-4WD-Off-Road_163246006.html


the vendor (UK based) claims that's a genuine Losi 5t with a price tag from 150-1000$ (note that it says: Factory genuine, fully assembled with Complete parts)


so I said why not write him a message. (the original Losi is 1600$).


The vendor reply was as follows:

Just for reference, the Losi 5t's one full box weighs around 23kg. shipping it alone to my country may cost around 700-800$ (he's doing this for free for the 10 units) and LOL he wants to give me 2 free units (yeah right)


so 12 units=5500$ Free shipping with DHL/UPS


There are 2 options:


1) Either he Stole the Losi warehouse and his father is DHL's owner


2) Scam (note that he wants me to transfer money via Western Union so that noone can track it)


well.. that's a really bad scam...


I have another quote from a similar company. no free shipping. no extra 2 units. but for 500$/ losi


any thoughts? :D

yeah. I work for a contracting Company that subcontracts Multi Billion $ Power plants to KSA and I know how these things work.

since there isn't any contract between us, I responded to him that I need a Time-Stamped Picture of the goods and actual warehouse photo.

furthermore, I asked him that i need an invoice and will show it to the bank and open a letter of credit (he can only get his money till requirements are met and goods delivered).

Most probably it is a scam, either way, I will request 1 sample before ordering big quantities. also, for the sample, I will pay via the website since it has also a Buyer's protection Full refund. but even before paying, he wont get anything without actual proof with pics and all.

let's see his reply.

Losi 5t from Alibaba

The Western Union payment is a dead giveaway it's a scam since there is no way to trace the payment once it is cashed. I would be surprised if they are willing to wait for payment until after you receive the trucks. And they're willing to give you two extra units for free since they have so many extra just sitting around. I would just save your money.
 
Well, after writing an email that had 0 loop holes in which I have asked the vendor to provide nearly everything from documents from Chamber of Commerce to Copy of his passport to pictures alongside today's newspaper (to confirm that pics aren't stolen from Internet) and a potential Factory visit, I didn't hear back from him :)

Any thoughts? Seems durable and fast to me, it says 120km/h

seems like a good bargain since it's FULL CNC METAL, I'm gonna install on it the Sidewinder X5 kit from Kraken when they 1st release it with a powerful Motor on.

providing me those stuff would have literally taken him like 5 mins. all he needed to is scan essential company documents and provide legitimacy..

I would have literally bought 10 trucks. that's 5k of income for him.

5k in 5 mins, that's a deal he wouldn't miss.

In any case, Any thoughts on the CNC baja 5b? i know it's a clone, but at least the company is gold member and verified
