Yeah that thing is crazy powerful, did you see the size of the motor in that thing. I have several 1/10 vehicles are running 11.1 v but that thing is running 33 through that with 10+ hp. not my thing but cool none the less.

ok ok im prob gunna get jumped on like a junky in harrods...

i think brushless on a largescale takes away 90% of the fun factor! ..its the sound & smell of burning that does it for me \o/

/crawls back into hole!!

+1, +2, +3 Daz !!!!
100% agreed .....

There is a time and a place, but a twin turbo milk float (golf cart for Americans!!) doesn't seem to fit.

Never a truer word said Daz.

The conversion is nice but I like the 2 stroke better. Iwould run it agains my OBR 30.5 full mod and Bartolone pipe combo anyday. Besides I can run for 45 mins fill it in 30 seconds then run another 45 mins.

comparing electric to gas just doesn't cut it. they are different.
i have one of each and they both have their place.
one thing i can tell u is the brushless truck im glad it only runs for 10 minutes or so cause by then im exhausted trying trying to not wreck it its so dam fast. its fast for a onroad car lol.
it makes the gas truck looklike a slug and i have a mod motor and a pipe and its fast.

You are right they are different. And each has there ups and downs. I just like the gas I guess. I have electric 1/8 and 1/10 just think the bigger scale is better in gas.

i agree with you and i had decided to not do a conversion. but mike from rcmonster ask to borrow my truck to do his conversion . he is a good friend and the hobby store had a new one that wasnt selling so i bought it.
i have 2 of these beasts and i find myself going for the electric one more often.
working 6 days a week with a long commute sometimes i have 10 minutes to play and the electric is easier and draws less attention. and leaves black tire marks all over the street :-)

Im considering doing an electric conversion on either my marder or one of the touring cars...what sort of run time do you get, how fast are they compared to the petrol versions. what does a conversion kit cost?

Justin

runtime is from 10 minutes to maybe 20. depends on so many things.
how fast is it? depends on your gearing. 50mph is easy.
cost is $600 or more for motor/esc and $120 for batterys plus maybe $150 to 250 for kit.

electric is more like a video game and gas is like being in the car.
i hate nitro car but love gas cars. i have a gas 5ive also but i keep finding myself grabbing the electric one? thing is an animal.

The way I figure it. I live in central London and running an electric 1/5 is better than sitting the gas 1/5 on the shelf while I wait for a opportunity to drive for 1 hour to get to a track. If its 'silent' its less likely to attract nosey parkers who may prevent my use. However if they are slow its not worth the cash outlay and Ill use the 1/10 electrics in the flat.

As for run time stock up on enough batteries and its a 3 minute changeover between runnings.
