I have just seen a lot of people over the inter web asking about the DBXL whether its worth it or not etc. and most of the replays they get are from someone who has never had or even driven one its just an uninformed opinion so i wanted to start this thread to let people know what they are getting in to by posting what problems we have had problems with what broke and what the weak points are in the truck (buggy) i have had my dbxl for a while but not a lot of throttle time because I'm waiting on parts all the time so would be a help to me as well to know what to preorder so I'm not broke down weeks at a time i myself have had a lot of down time because of unavailability of parts (in canada seemingly) and the rc shop here mostly deals in redcat so not a lot of losi parts at all but they are getting better for me because I'm hard on equipment but anyways......

Mine came out of the box great fuelled it up primed it fired right up and away we went after the clutch broke free as it did stick first time i used the car, carb setup pretty good for break in period didn't have to touch it at all however just when i had gotten the screwdriver to adjust the carb i figured nope I'm gunna give it a little longer i put it in my back pocket not even one minute of driving later i stopped by my buddys truck then went to go turn around hit the throttle and something had shorted out or something in the servo throttle stuck wide open (thank god for his truck being there and the carb not being tuned or boy it could've been hairy)so i wound up rigging a 1/10 scale servo in until the hitec's i ordered come in i had throttle but no brake (didn't turn out well for one pedestrian  he thought i was going to hit him he actually jumped in the way of where i was going but it was a buddy and i wasn't going fast) so got to jumping it......yes it is a lawn dart no two ways about it but fairly durable cage and bumpers stood up pretty well i thought shocks took it i broke one shock bolt....but minor.....screws and set screws HAVE to be gone over and locktighted as they must have been on a budget for loctite and had the screws tightened by a 2 year old girl with adhd i have lost the screws from both front and rear bumpers etc. and set crews come loose on my rear drive shaft and lost the yolk or cup if you will so i would go over all of them before you run it i found others loose as well as for aftermarket parts there is not a lot of aftermarket parts for the dbxl yet and finding stockers seems to be a challenge as well unless you yourself are a distributor (stores don't have a problem with stock parts just online)but losi 5ive parts seem to be riggable for the most part the shocks are a little weak for the weight of the car it does bottom out a lot but overall handles great and is a blast to run

overall my 2 cents is it is a great truck a lot of fun and great entry into 5th scale without the $2000 tag tighten all of the screws over change the servos and avoid jumping over 8-10 ft and you should be good to go
