Completely devistated right now, driving home and my wife called me and told me my dog Lohman just collapsed in the backyard. He must of had a heart attach, he just had a check up last week and was fine and healthy for a 10 year old dog. Laid him to rest tonight in wooded area of backyard. I keep telling myself he died running after the deer on the outside of the fence, which he loved to do. I also rescued him, so he had a better life then he would have I guess. RIP brown dog.
 
I know the feeling, i had a 7 year old husky that died when i found out i felt so bad i had that dog since she was 3 months old man that really sucks thats why i don't want another dog i don't want to feel like that Ever im sorry for your lost man.
 
Sorry for your loss, at least it was quick...

My last dog had seizures and stuff towards the end.

Had her for 12 yrs, they are really part of the family.
 
Sorry for your loss.had to put my 15 year old rottie down she went in my arms one of the hardest things i ever done again...sorry....
 
Yea, thats a dammed shame. Lost a few dogs over the years myself. People may or may not know-- never-ever feed a dog anything with any sort of tomato in it -- left over chili- Its posion to a dogs liver--yea, they all foam at the mouth for people food--- white chocklete is bad news for a dogs guts also. just saying.
 
An old cougar hunter taught me how to quickly cure a dog with Distemper- People next door had a bunch of pit bulls - vet gave distemper shots- adults and pups still caught it. Mix 2 egg whites- 1 oz pepto bismo- OR 1 oz pedilite - unflavored- 1/2 tablespoon Baking soda- mix it up in a turkey baster if the dogs too sick to eat it- shoot it down the dogs throat every 2 hours.- The dog will puke it up-- just like they do when they eat grass. - I cured 2 adults- 4 pups- 1 died. the ones that lived- next day they were weak, but on there feet agan.-- I poop you not-- it works! So much for science huh?

It has been a couple of days now, I have a black lab puppy that has been with us since I lost Lance, Lohmans litter mate 8 months ago, she is agood dog but nothing compared to Lohman. She is not a good watch dog though, not a mean bone in her body. LOL

I have to lock the doors now,never had to with Lohman. There is nothing like the bay of a coon hound. It is a noise that I still don't think should come out of a dog. LOL
