Just fitted magura hydros to me truck. They seem not to lock the wheels, slow them up a bit. I am still able to push the truck with not much effort.

I believe i have got all the air out, but maybe you tell me different.

i should imagine with hydraulics you'd be able to lock up the wheels very easily, i know my cable brakes can lock up the wheels on my FG. i've never seen a hydraulic set up but i should imagine you can set up the amount of pressure from the cylinder by the servo...? the setting up maybe a case of trial n error, like the cable ones. hope you get it sorted!

im guessing if my upgraded layshaft brake (metal disc/carbon pads) lock up my wheels with ease then im guessing hydros will with no probs as hydro's require very little torque from the servo!

Hydros should stop it on its nose. Maybe they need bleeding again or you got an air leak which is softening them??

Please mate how do you bleed em cos it seems I thouth id cracked it but now what your sayin there still to soft. How do I know if I got nuff oil in them?

not entirely sure myself about the correct procedure, i have a rough idea as to how i'd do it but best check out this link. it's to largescale specialist shop in germany, when you click on it, just below the pictures you'll find a little link offering to "download installation instructions", no doubt there'll be info in there about setting them up and freeing them of air. best of luck mate! :)

Stupid question, but have you adjusted your pads?
Don't know if it's right, just seems logical, but I set mine to be as close as possible without touching, thus permitting the maximum bite when you stomp on the brakes.

How do I set my pads mate. I just fitted it all together then bled it. They just not stoppin well and piston is lo
ng way out of mastee cylinderand pulleeed hard out bycservo

A photo tells us what Mk of maguras you have also the actual set up. Bleeding is simple if you do it right.

I have the ones with the plastic top reservoir that fits on a 2" long mointing post. I sure I got ll air out. I have to pull very hard on the rod to make em do anything! Should I take the pistons from the callips and lube them up a bit?

They are the older magura 1 brakes. you need to use 2 syringes to bleed them, if the bleed screw is at the bottom, take off the slave cylinder and turn it so the screw is at the top while you bleed it. Make sure the pads and discs are compatable and everything is clean, if all that is done ok you need to get some shims or make some out of beer cans.
