I forget to put thread lock on my 2 bolts for my head gasket. They loosened up on a high speed run and my gasket was pulled into my engine. Take a look at the following pics :) ..... and yes the motor survived but took out my diaphram in my carb.
 
I had the exact same thing happen to me. I cleaned out the crank by holding it upside down, and spraying WD-40 into it until it ran clear. Cleaned the head and piston, and fixed it all up with a new gasket. Works like new. No damage.
 
I came here from nitro and it happened to me also. I went to copper and I use titanium bolts. I had a bolt break in the head flush. I ruined a case. The regular steel bolts stretch every time you torque them to specs. Titanium won't.
